A week or so ago Katie and I met a pilot.
After completing a Delta flight from LGA > MCI we were greeted by the pilot who had, somehow, just flown the aircraft through the sky.
He approached us in the jet bridge and expressed his love for our music, and in terms of getting “rockignized”, he seemed genuinely star struck in a way that most people who come up to us in public never are, and he kept saying as much.
It was especially flattering because we were also starstruck as we were speaking to a real life pilot! Who again, somehow, had just flown the aircraft through the sky.
After exchanging a few kind words I asked if we could get a photo with him. He looked at me sort of stunned, realizing I had just reversed the rockignition. He excitedly told me “yes!” and then, “just one moment!”.
He disappeared back onto the plane only to quickly reappear and wave us into the cockpit. He let us both take photos with him while sitting in the captains seat and it really made our day, and beyond. Call it a dream come true.
I’ve always loved pilots and how they present themselves in society with their timeless uniforms and stoic gait. They bravely do the impossible by defying gravity as they somehow take a 150 ton piece of metal and place it above the clouds.
I stand not worthy (in the Waynes World sense) in the shadow of each pilot greeting their passengers every time I deplane, and this time it was incredibly flattering to have the admiration returned.
Thank you Pilot Aaron!
May you forever fly smooth skies.
as your Captain, Kevin & Katie I can confirm it is PFM! Ofc!!
This is priceless on so many levels!
