DEMO ONE: In January 2021 I rented a small house in the desert to work on my new songs and build some muscle memory before taking them into the studio. My main motive here was to work on my song A Random Act Of Kindness as it was feeling a bit like an untameable beast at the time. I told myself that I was going to rent this house and play the song over and over in different keys and arrangements until it found what it wanted to be.
So, armed with a new 12 string I had just purchased from Old Style Guitars in Los Angeles, I stumbled into a riff that became the first step in a days long journey into writing my song Stop Before I Cry. This is a sacred and very special thing that sometimes happen in the life of a songwriter; when playing one song leads to writing a whole new one.
SO the first demo you will hear here is technically a demo for A Random Act Of Kindness, but pay close attention to the guitar riff at the beginning and how I’m playing it as it will make more sense in the second demo.
